One thing after another - an eventful trip to collect Mate

On Wednesday 2nd Feb I left early to go and get Mate. The weather was expected to get to 36-40 degrees celsius and i left early to go on the long drive there. From the beginning i knew i was in for a rough trip. ALL the major freeways highways and main roads between Red Lion and Melbourne are currently undergoing roadworks and many of the roads between here and the freeways are also undergoing roadworks to repair the damage caused by recent floods. It took me a lot longer than itr usually would to get to melbourne and on the way down i had first car breakdown.got to my sisters place and dropped in for few minutes then continued out to Garfield to collect Mate.
Roadworks turned a 55 minute trip into an hour and a half and in that time car broke down again.
Finally i arrived and all the puppies came racing out to me surrounding my ankles and trying to chew my shoes.Mate followed me round like he had already known me a long time. we got into car and headed to Pakenham to my friends house but i hadnt been to her house before and it was not in my map book. my phone battery died and i was clueless no map no gps and couldnt call her. Mate and me went to the shops to ask and no one would help us so i started driving i knew the house was near the freeway just wasnt sure exactly where.stumbled across the library and the librarian was kind enough to print us out a map and directions to get there.we stayed at my friends house till late and then went to go ....car wouldnt start. I finally got it started and headed back to my sisters place.Halfway there car broke down again and this time when i got it started signals werent working and taillights were playing up.
picked up mums laptop from my sister then headed home.i stopped to put fuel in  the car 40 dollars worth and then we continued home. halfway home no extra money and i happened to glance at the fuel gage and knew we were in trouble. had over an hours drive and bugger all fuel.i kept going and each township we passed was one closer to home. hit creswick on the red and knew we were not going to make it home but car was not just low on fuel it was over heating ,no signals, taillights playing up and oil gage was jumping up and down like it was a pogo stick.i kept going hoping we could make it to clunes but we broke down in the middle of nowhere. Called mum and we waited for her to come and get us and we got home and some ridiculous hour of the morning. All in all a very very rough day but all ended well Mate and me safely home and Shai and Shadow adore him .
